Wise Atangana is a Canadian poet, singer, artist, and educator born and raised in Cameroon, Central Africa. Since moving to Canada in 2013 with his family, Wise Atangana has given over 250 workshops and performances to approximately 25,000 students in schools in Ontario, Quebec and around Canada. Wise Atangana uses music and poetry to inspire and motivate future generations to build a better future by deconstructing the narratives and prejudices that amplify systemics discriminations.
About The Tour
Messimba Tour – Conversations about “Diversity, Inclusion and Systemic Racism”. Through Music and Poetry Wise Atangana is on a nationwide tour of his new album Messimba. Thanks to the Canada Council for the Arts’ Recognition of Artistic Excellence Award, Wise is on a mission to spread the power of positivity through his music across schools, campuses, businesses, and organizations.
The tour focuses on matters that are of urgent importance, creating conversation on issues of equity, diversity, inclusion, and systemic racism. Through energetic music, spoken poetry performances, conferences, reflection sessions, and writing workshops, the Messimba Tour inspires the audience to fight social issues and take a stand for equality. The tour runs from September 15, 2022, to June 15, 2023, across all provinces and territories of Canada (schools, campuses, businesses, organizations, etc.).

MESSIMBA TOUR – ENTERTAINMENT
Wise Atangana’s entertainment conference is a memorable event full of poetry and live music that is aimed at raising awareness of concepts like diversity, inclusion, and equity. After an energetic musical performance by the artist, a dance party celebrates music from around the world. Employees, students, and participants are also encouraged to share playlists of music from around the world. Through entertainment, Wise Atangana brings a sense of unity among the participants, breaking the boundaries of racial prejudices and differences.
A CREATIVE TRAINING PROGRAM
Wise Atananga brings a creative new way to start conversations and train organizations on important concepts like equity, diversity, and inclusion. Perfect for institutions and corporations aiming to build a culture that is inclusive of all kinds of people, this training program offers workshops that use the power of music, storytelling, prose, and poetry to engage the participants and create a positive lasting impression.
A POETRY WRITING & READING CLUB
There’s power in poetry! And with Wise Atangana’s poetry writing and reading club, participants are encouraged to write and reflect on a wide range of subjects including diversity, equity, and inclusion. Aimed at schools, companies, institutions, and organizations, the sessions help participants create a poetry book full of original work aimed at the diverse subjects covered. Through poetry, Wise Atananga’s sessions create positive dialogue and start conversations among peers on hard social subjects, in turn creating an environment that is inclusive for everyone.
